CAN iOS APPS PRODUCE STUDIO QUALITY MUSIC?

I asked Alex Matheu, who developed Glitchbreaks, whether he thought music apps can provide pro results. As a studio engineer and producer who develops and uses apps, Alex is uniquely qualified to give us the big resounding YES! (As follows.)

“Of course, if it is a question of quality, most apps output 44.1khz 16 bit audio, this is the same as what is standard on a CD, and higher quality than the highest bit rate MP3.

“There are apps, like Auria, that can record 24 bit 96khz Audio, and work with it in that format, meaning that you can have “professional” studio grade audio, with studio grade effects on iOS only. Quite amazing.”

So don’t let anyone tell you that iOS apps are for “sketching” only, OK?
